Whoah, and the comments say this is not an isolated incident.
I think we can safely say the entire force needs to be sacked.

A few people in a crowd that attempted to block the passage of emergency vehicles was maced. So what? It's a crime (literally, a crime) to attempt to block emergency vehicles from reaching their destination.

Would the crowd have preferred to be arrested? Note how a grand total of like 3 people were hit by the mace, and the entire crowd backed off and let the emergency vehicles pass. Amazing how that works.

50+/800 protecting a fired police officer at his house is a good sample size.

Says nothing about the blue code of silence that was on display during the murder (the standing cop, not holding the victim down, but instead making sure his accomplices were uninterrupted).

Fired cop had a dozen+ complaints for brutality over his career, and involved in several deaths. Authorities investigated and cleared him. Coming down from on high, that reeks of complicity.

That's a horrible example. After an Islamic terrorist attack on a church, thousands of police across the nation were utilized to protect Mosques for weeks.

The entire goal of having police protecting the former officer's house was to quite literally prevent a lynching.

Not defending his actions. Based on the evidence we can see, he absolutely appears to be guilty of willful murder. He certainly appears to deserve being locked away for a good many years. However, allowing a mob of angry people to storm his house and string him up? Nope.

...while riots were going on. Would have been a far greater use of resources to have 1 cop arrest him and place him safely in jail, and the others could go be useful to the public.

"safely in jail" while they burn down the 3rd precinct.
