It's true that 4.5m or so have died with or had covid in the previous 30 days of their death. It's true that it's mostly killing people with comorbidities and the average age of death is around the life expectancy. It's also true that tobacco take out about 8 millions people yearly and is totally legal. Tobacco isn't a virus but the fact that it kills more people than covid is questionable. It's buyable and consumable everywhere. In my opinion these are good metrics. If the goal is saving lives then they are something wrong with the response to this crisis. If there wasn't so much wealth transfer to be made from this you would be able to get a RX for ivermectin and other cheap drugs anywhere in the world. In fact it's very, very hard and controversial even if India seems to have killed the latest wave with this drug.
Tobacco usage is very real, but 100% voluntary. I support any campaign to inform and help people make the right decision.
2nd hand smoke is real but your exposure to it is pretty voluntary for the most part.
Wealth transfer is super real and shitty. It's really strange gov't funds seem to be nothing more than money laundering that ends up back in the 1% pockets. I swear as long as those people keep hoarding the wealth the gov't could just keep printing forever (kind of joking)
If Ivermectin could be proven to be effective, who would be against that? Not me.
My point is acting like it's not serious and taking steps like masks or other is ruining peoples lives is pretty low effort BS. Crying about vaccine passports as 1 step away from Auschwitz is pretty stupid as the US required proof of vax forever.. it was so oppressive everyone forgot about it.
