And no, the vast majority of the crew were evacuated. It was a good while before the ship actually sank.

Casualties are unknown, but not likely to be an enormous number.

I'm not sure that footage is actually the Moskva. The crappy resolution makes it hard to tell.

You can find an actual picture here: https://thesaker.is/sitrep-operation-z-11/

Thanks for the pic, Chopsticks.

Question though: who took this picture?

Don't know, but probably one of the crew members of either the Moskva (after evacuating) or a crewmember of one of the other Black Sea ships that came to aid.

Kek Wikipedia

You will believe anything :bonk:

The thing about Wikipedia is that, unlike you, they have sources.

Holy shit, they actually managed to capture that on tape? How did they know she was going to sink? And why didn't they try to help her by sending out distress signals or something and instead just watch her sink like that.

And I am assuming people onboard all died. This is truly terrible.

If they know they can't get the fires and flooding under control, they abandon ship. You can see from the other photos that the life rafts had all been deployed. And they did issue SOS calls, which is why a Turkish ship (among others) responded. Estimates are that 100-150 crew survived.

I see.

Here's a question that might sound dumb: if the rescuing ship is actually Ukrainian, the other warring nation, do they kill all the crewmembers on life rafts because they are enemy combatants? Or do they save them for humanitarian purposes.

Man you're so full of shit it's hilarious. Not only is Wikipedia total trash garbage and no better than any mainstream media outlet these days, but there are 240 sailors from the Moskva that appeared in footage not that long ago. At-least that many survived, and probably many more.

But you want to make-believe so bad that the Moskva lost 80% of its crew even though they had plenty of time to abandon ship.

POWs if they had been saved by a Ukrainian ship. Not that the Ukrainians could have a ship there without getting blasted out of the water.

As I heard, there were 100-150 sailors in footage, hence my number. If more survived, good for them.
