Ukrainian state media on both Facebook and Twitter put out statements saying they will summarily execute Russian artillerymen who surrender or are captured. This is a blatant war crime and violation of the geneva conventions, of course, its also from a side that's powerless and Russia could wipe out instantly if they weren't restraining themselves.
This is of course similar to Hitler's commando order in 1942, one of his infamous war crimes, and one of the central charges at the Nuremberg Trials.

The Ukrainian government is right there on facebook and twitter declaring they'll engage in the same war crimes for which we hung from the neck until dead many Nazi war criminals.

As bad as it sounds, the people do need to suffer in order to put pressure on the Kremlin to change course. If the Kremlin has got such a grip on the state where this doesn't change anything, like North Korea, then sanctions won't be as effective. But even if that's the case, intelligence also suggests the Kremlin has been severely limited in their ability to fund a war since the 2014 sanctions. It's probably why it took them 8 years to make a move on Ukraine and why some of their military equipment is dilapidated and their organisation in this war has been poor so far

Its a declaration of a war crime. They directly stated they will execute POWs, give no quarter. Its a message being shared from Ukrainian military leaders to the Ukrainian military.
We hung Nazis at Nuremberg for this same declaration.
