My wife and I get our first doses on the 22nd. Feel kinda guilty, but my mom already has both her doses so maybe the higher risk people in the area are getting it that fast? Idk, I know I'm lower priority since I am younger so I'll trust the system I guess.

you might be surprised as you get older and wiser about that system your trusting. I do hope the best for the ones that trust and take the vax. but just a reminder it is for something you have a 99.9 something survival rate better odds than the vax has

Eh whatever not like you had a choice

If you said no u would have been put on the decline list and wouldn’t have another chance for awhile probably

I think Thor is in research, but have either of you been in contact with knuckledragging healthcare personnel who don't want the vaccine? I've read it's a significant problem, even in nursing homes.

Someone on Twitter proposed giving $1,000 checks to people who get it... probably not a bad idea tbh.

When I worked at the hospital I'd say 20% of the nurses were straight up knuckledraggers. Obscenely stupid individuals. About 60% were smart enough you could have a conversation with. And about 20% should have taken the extra step and become a physician. That ratio is pretty much the same as the ratio of young people in the Chemistry classes I taught to the nursing majors, but I did my best to elevate the exceptional 20% and encourage them that if they were going to be a nurse they should at least be an NP or just straight up go to medical school because they were exceptionally smart and good students.

If you Google, the percentage refusing vaccination at some places is 50% or higher. That's why I think a financial incentive might be worth it.

Of course, in a country that elected Donald Trump once, and almost elected him twice, we shouldn't be surprised with these numbers.

Yes daily

Anecdotal but it seems half the nurses I speak with are anti vax thinking it will stop them from having babies

Then the other half is incredibly PRO vax

Nursing homes the average nurse quality and competency is much less than hospitals

Maybe the path for normal people like myself is to stop caring about other people... that would help my anxiety.
