Actually, I think this gaming forum and this thread is particularly mild when in comes to flames and attacks as compared to some of the others that I know.
In my point of view, a debate or discussion collapses when both parties are getting too emotional.
In recent events, depending on what media you connect with, the videos and pictures that are being shown definitely eats into you. At the end of the day we are human beings after all, most of us are intolerant of what we see when it comes to the current upheaval.

When emotion eats into you, we start to lose our rationale, once we lose our rationale we start to lose our analytical mindset. And when that happens it will mean both parties depending on who you are leaning against will start the " name calling and flaming".
It is kind of inevitable.

I believe if I were to go back enough pages, I could find posts of yours joyously awaiting Russia killing these very same men, and that no mercy would be granted for them.

I don't particularly dislike the common Ukrainian soldier. They are just cannon fodder fighting in a proxy war and many of them are surrendering without fighting, aren't beholden to neo-nazi ideology, etc. Nobody deserves to get shot in the back by a Nazi deathsquad who were supposed to be on "their" side.

The neo-nazi fucksticks that are getting pounded at Azovstal right now though.. yeah, they clearly made a conscious choice to adhere to violence and hatred as their reason for being. Most of them are guilty of warcrimes and killing tons of civilians. So, they can get what's coming to em'.

I'm not posting pics here, but I will describe them for you.

In one picture there is a trash can somewhere in Mariupol. Inside the trash can is the body of a killed mercenary, his hands have been bound and he took a bullet to the back of the head, having clearly been executed.

As it turns out, the man is Turkish and he was fighting on the side of Ukraine. Given that only Ukrainian forces had access to him before he was discovered by DPR, they and only they could be responsible for executing him and dumping his body in a literal trash can.

Why they would do that to him is unknown, but most likely he had second thoughts about continuing to fight and tried to desert.
