Speaking about Chechnya and Ireland. Both have a century history of rebelling a colonial empire, agressive, despite of being rebellions still speak colonial language, adopt colonial culture and widely represented there as somewhat freedom fighters.

editing noting you edited. Yes I can agree with that.

Thus the challenge is:

using Chechnya please provide a comparison to Ukraine.
using The American Revolutionary War please provide a comparison to Ukraine.

Okay, I did it like 10 pages ago. Here we go again.
Russia= British Empire, Ukraine= USA. And this conflict is the American Revolutionary War with the same guys helping a new country to gain independence (France, for example, and Russian Empire as an ugly analog of EU) and diminish power of colonial empire.

apologies i had edited my post above, but did not make a new post, yes, to clarify, the comparison is sound and i agree.
the comparison i was making with ireland was the deep division, where none exists in ukraine (and to keep things simple i wont argue the point further) your analogy is better.

ascribing evil to an entire race is just wrong sorry. If you want to rephrase how you said it go ahead, and if not, it is what it is.
I would say your argument is ill formed noting America and China have more power, and various countries around the world have regional power, or absolute power over their nation. that does not make that nation evil.
happy for you to rephrase / clarify.

Evil = intentionally harming the other party
Superpowers abuse their powers to press their interests despite resistance from minor powers. The more powerful a superpower gets the more reckless their methods become. In that sense, it doesn't matter whether people are goody two shoes or not. The country with too much power is going to abuse it one way or another. Same applies to USA, China etc.
For example, the US risks nuclear fallout in Europe right now just to weaken Russia's economy and military. Could they care less from the other side of the globe? Nope. Do the average Americans know the consequences? Yeah, but they fully support pressing the escalation button. Who is more evil then?

edit:
Russian sources report their new commander is going to use all methods possible to subjugate Ukraine. Translation for others, they're going to level everything east and north of their positions.

Zelensky: "Liberation of all of Ukraine is only a matter of time". I guess the sad truth is unmotivated Russians continue to shit on themselves on battlefield.

I dont agree with your definition of the word evil. I would provide a counter by saying : individuals are evil, and some areas of the world have more evil people then others, but people are not born evil, ergo a country or race can not be evil. ascribing the term evil to an entire people is to my mind is a large step towards being evil. strongly recommend you read up and comprehend the concept of anti-antisemitism in order to understand why no one should ascribe the word evil to a race of people.

its ok to say that Benjamin Netanyahu is evil. its not ok to say that Israel is evil. I hope the distinction is understood.

I'm not saying a race or people are evil. A country of people with too much power will end up evil no matter how good the people are who live in there. Evil is to me doing something harmful to someone else with malicious intent. Pressing your interests against their interests even if its harmful to them and you fully know it = evil.

better to use a different word and expression. i.e. something like:

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. The more powerful a country becomes the more opportunities present themselves for those in power to do harmful acts to either their (not its) people or their (not its) neighbors. the distinction made is individuals rather then the country as a whole. When this distinction is not made a certain tiny country in the middle east gets all hot and bothered all day long.
