yeah the thing that ages the whisky is every year as the weather changes, the barrels expand and contract allowing a little liquor into the wood, then the wood releases it

more years = more cycles of wood flavor

that makes sense, ive never really gotten into liquor or wine aging just know its a thing.

Lagavulin 16 is a bit too peaty for me. The smell might take you back to the times when an ashtray was on the table at birthdays

My current favs are Caol Ila 12 & the Glenmorangie Nectar D'Or.

if i like this one i might have to branch out, ive had scotch and soda for years and whiskey sours are my fave drink but havent gotten much into drinking it straight.

We need a pard dark liquor thread, I’m sure I can learn a lot

We could make a "Food and Politics" thread, like the sports gambling thread where it's only barely disguised as how food influenced politics.

Bought a case of Costco American Vodka, 6 handles, half a dozen cases of this nice australian ginger beer, and limes. Delicious.

Add juice from two limes, a ginger beer, and 4 shots into a mixer, pour over ice. Some of you might want to tone the shots down to ability to hold liquor.

Costco blended Canadian taste like Crown Royal. The french Vodka is made from the same river and by the same place Grey Goose is made. The American vodka is more like Tito's, which i prefer.

Heard the tequila is to be avoided. If I'm going to spend a lot on a bottle it will be a clear tequila.

From what I've heard, any strain that has the same protein spike should be targeted by the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.

South African strain is kinda an unknown right now. Some data saying steroids don’t have as robust of a response, which is terrifying. After 9 months that is the one intervention that has reliably made the most significant difference. The strain Probably shouldn’t interfere with spike protein /vaccination but one wonders how long before a variant does arise

yes

/e If another variant is discovered and is able fool actual vaccines it 's probably possible to create a new dedicated working vaccine within weeks.

The South African strain has a different protein spike...
