The best case scenario is that this operation will develop rapidly, leaving large numbers of Ukrainian troops with no option but to surrender.

This will hasten the movement towards a political settlement. It will be hard for Zelensky to order everyone to keep up the fight when he is about to lose 50-60k guys as PoW's.

But Zelensky is crazy and more than willing to sacrifice every last one of his people to please Joe Biden, so who knows.

I think what he is saying is - the narrative is how terrible and inhuman the russian's are but when you look at the wars and incidents that occuring even as i type this, in other parts of the world, and historically (recent), the russians are no worse and in fact tamer then other aggressors.

May I say this in my own words.
Genocide, Massacre, looting, raping, bombing of hospitals and schools are the most atrocious event any aggressors can come up with.

On one hand, the aggressors who are receiving less international support will be labeled as such.
And on the other end of the spectrum, the liberators who received more international support will labeled it as " collateral " damage.

Please note that I am not saying this in defense of Russia or saying it in accusation towards the Ukrainian government.
Perhaps both governments will go to their extreme to defend their ideologue, sovereignty and security. They might just use the most despicable methods to gain momentum and ground to a point of sacrificing their own citizens, man woman and children in order to win at any cost.

Maybe this is the cold hard truth.
