Maybe I'll give that a go during summer. Iv tried oysters and scotch a few times with little success and I really like oysters, but the scotch just isn't enjoyable. At the end of the day something can taste unique like a sour beer that I only want one of but ultimately it must be actually enjoyable too. I just haven't found that to date with hard liquor without mix. On the other hand I can sit and pound rye and coke all night, it's the only time I'll touch pop and if I just drank pop I'd never get by 1 can but I'll drink 3+ with the better part of a bottle of rye or rum.

I'm just going to have to accept I'll never look as cool as the people who can just enjoy something on the rocks. I'll be holding cringes for years to come as my boss offeres fine booze that's in reality only going to waste on my pleb palate.

Nah man I think you just haven’t had the quality stuff. No cringe going down, super smooth. Gimme a bit and I will pm a list

No point to wait, aging process is over

Typical scotch rules: 1 year to finish after bottle is opened and neat or with one drop of ice water

I actually haven’t had that scotch before, let me know!

yeah the thing that ages the whisky is every year as the weather changes, the barrels expand and contract allowing a little liquor into the wood, then the wood releases it

more years = more cycles of wood flavor

Lagavulin 16 is a bit too peaty for me. The smell might take you back to the times when an ashtray was on the table at birthdays

My current favs are Caol Ila 12 & the Glenmorangie Nectar D'Or.
