There's a lot of cool things you can do in WoW and it caters to a lot of different play styles. I'm not super competitive so my only goal is to clear the heroic raid tier each patch. I enjoy raiding and hunting for transmogs. I hate pvp and I hate ultra competitive aspects since it becomes a time sink.

bfa was lame storywise but the raids were solid. only did a few bosses in mythic each raid so, far less serious play than i did in wrath where the guild i raided in was doing realm firsts. still had a lot of fun playing again after a long break

and yeah wow still has a lot of extra things you can do which keeps me coming back. its a relatively cheap hobby now too.

im looking forward to shadowlands also but prob will play even more casually.

Yea, I don't think Blizzard has had a bad raid in a while (maybe Cataclysm?). Warlords didn't have enough raids, but the raids themselves were really solid. Anyway, I love raiding and I love wiping and constantly improving. Hell, dungeons are really fun too but I find M+ repetitive and people are dicks.

I bought Baldur's Gate. I'm literally dying...in the tutorial.
