We're asking for actual evidence of nazism being widespread and politically relevant in Ukraine other than a handful of small groups, it's not a difficult ask
I really do remember this same tired deflection from the Syrian War with the white helmets, ISIS, al qaeda and the ever perpetuate myth of moderate democracy-loving good guy sunni militias out for liberty. All the examples I give you'll sweep away as a no trues scotsman or dismiss as isolated no matter how many of them there are, and you'll just ignore the logic and inference. I can point to all the pre-war reporting on the widespread Nazi military in Ukraine, or the ADL100's polling of anti-semitic attitudes, or all the pictures of them marching under Nazi flags, or the pictures of soldiers with Nazi tattoos, the politicians who idolize Nazi collaborates and run on Nazi platforms and got the Israelis in a huff. But its the inference I find more compelling; that if Nazis
weren't widespread, they'd be marginalized, disavowed and dismissed. Zelenksy has spent the whole war begging the west for help but won't disavow his Nazi regiment. The Biden Administration, for all its incompetence, can't fail to recognize the political toxicity of shipping arms to Nazis, and yet they are the recipients. If the Nazis weren't at the forefront, I wouldn't see so much of their war footage in the streams of war propaganda being posted by Ukrainian sources, flooded reddit and twitter. NATO wouldn't have to sheepishly withdraw its own tweets because they accidentally showcased Nazi soldiers in the Ukrainian ranks with Nazi tattoos visible. How often do US soldiers on duty get photographed and put into military publications with their forehead swastika visible? We don't have a standing Nazi army, Ukraine does. As far as I know, Ukraine is the only country with an actual Nazi battalion, I'd love to be proven otherwise.
So there we were a decade ago, Hillary Clinton and later John Kerry were spreading the same bullshit, saying that we're only arming moderate pro-democracy rebel groups in Syria to fight Assad. And for some reason, it was secretive CIA arms distributions that wound up in the hands of Al Qaeda and ISIS, the latter piling onto what they already took from us in Iraq. We'd get some footage of fundamentalists and terrorists with US arms, and the Obama administration dismissed it as isolated cases or Assad's propaganda. We were on the side of peace and democracy. We got obviously staged footage of White Helmets sprayed across social media and the 5 o clock news to build up American sympathy for the war and public support for arming them, we got the same little girl pulled out of the rubble 5 times and we got that hilariously myopic video of them faking a rescue to emulate the mannequin challenge because the focus groups said they needed to appeal to teenagers. A few years later we were arming the Kurds to fight alongside the Russians to hand the country back to Assad on a silver platter, killing the people wielding the previous shipment of arms.
Didn't buy it then, don't buy it now.
