afaik wrongful termination is void if charges or even a civil suit happens against the cops. so the city will stall until these guys get charged or a civil suit drops imo. but state differences and union difference are so vast i got no idea 100%.
yeah I assumed the normal procedure was that they could be put on suspension until a grand jury can charge them, then their pay remains suspended until they're convicted and lose it (or get paid retroactively if found innocent). I
thought that was how it worked, but yeah it really comes down to union contracts and localization.
