The Kurds stand on their own two feet. The were basically hired mercenaries the US used. What is the US to do with them? Invade a country, make a safe space for them, and then act as law enforcement forever? No, no, no. The Kurds can choose their own path. The US should get out of the Middle East.

This is how you breed more extremism. Go in, fuck shit up, and leave before it's fixed. Yeah, it's a long road, but unless we start making an active effort to rebuild the countries that have been meddled in for 100 years we won't see a decline in extremism.

Abandoning the Kurds is equivalent to abandoning Israel, NatureNames. The lone democratic society in the region. Our only true ally. Turkey needs to be kicked from NATO.

Nobody is abandoning the Kurds. The US is free to leave the area. The Kurds can make peace or leave too if they know what's was good for them. There is 15+ million Kurds in Turkey (about 1/5 of Turkey's population). Maybe the ones in Syria should just make peace or go home. If they want to fight, that is their choice.

Nobody sided with the US when they invaded Vietnam. That doesn't mean US allies abandoned the US. It just means they didn't want to be part of that war.

The US can leave Syria without "abandoning" an ethic group. The Kurds were there before the US showed up and the Kurds will be there when we leave.

Perhaps we should have left the Jews in Germany?

They were there before we showed up, and they are there now that we... oh wait we still have military bases there and we also got you your own country.

We tried that. It doesn't work. 20 more years and trillion more dollars wont fix it. Pull out and don't do it again.

Warring and interfering in the middle east forever until its 'fixed' is a garbage plan.

There is no American rebuild in Syria.
Putting a few dozen american troops in extreme danger does not fix Syria.

I am wondering, Do you think the previous administration arming Islamic radicals reduced extremism?

The Turcs want to exterminate them, sounds like we got another nobel prize here.

So this is the moment where US is about to isolate itself even moar while others countries are about to do something... Not idea what will happen yet.

We did not try that. We never made an honest effort at rebuilding.

I'd honestly prefer a total pull-out compared to the half-assed approach we've taken up until now.

Thus i think US should be banned from middle east i think this one is amusing:

Trump’s betrayal of the Kurds isn’t just immoral—there’s no strategic reason for it.

We tried dude. Corruption runs deep in the Middle East. We trained, we supported, we protected, we educated. They don't care! You can't reform culture.

You want to see what rebuilding looks like? You wanna see the garbage we had to fix? Watch the video. Heroin addicts and child molesters- that is the best the had to offer.
