Putin’s hand was forced by ever-expanding NATO and a direct threat of putting rockets in Ukraine that could reach Moscow.
Both UK and France want this war to last (probably not Germany though). The corrupt Zelensky clearly wants it too.
War economy is not a good economy. It’s a myth created after USA transformed it’s economy during WWII and started selling guns and industrial products to the Europe fighting with each other. And getting paid very well in return. Only in this way can this be profitable.
Putin won’t challenge NATO. He can barely handle (NATO supported) Ukraine, without catastrophic losses to Russia.
USA has much stronger leadership now than it had under Biden.
boohooo poor Putin. Humans who want to be free and democratically elect their leaders are a thread to Putin? So he starts to bomb them and invade their country, inventing shit about Russians being surpressed? And you are like "yup, sounds right, I believe that" - of course democracy is a threat to Putin because its antithetical to his leadership. But does that mean we are okay with him bombing the shit out of any country that wants to be free? Also whats the source of Zelensky being currupt? Fox News opinion hosts? Newsmax? Some dude on X? Don't make me laugh.
Not really.
Who, What, When , Why, How. The war didn't just begin in 24 February 2022
Similarly speaking the current India and Pakistan conflict didn't start last week.
You need foreign actors to light it up.
It is what it is. It sucks being a neighbor of a " Superpower" either militarily or economically or both. That is just how the world works. If you are not careful as a country and your domestic politics are being compromised, the entire nation gets screwed.
I understand that with the end of the cold war, promises were given to Russia to stay out of their sphere of influence and with former Soviet states joining NATO that promise has essentially been broken. So obviously tensions have been increasing. But as we are all living in parts of the free world enjoying liberties to vote an idiot like Trump into the white house AND to be able to call him an idiot, I will not hold it against other people to strive for freedom themselves. And thats also essentially what is at stake in the end. Looking at the US which used to be a strong democracy for many decades and an important pillar of global stability, its clear that we cannot take that for granted. While your political view may be different than mine, its quite obvious if you look at the US from the outside that democracy is at the brink of being lost. But while you may feel comfortable with Trump, what if the next guy ruling the US is just another Putin? Once institutions are so hollow that there is basically no way to challenge him anymore and he starts to take away freedoms that you care about? Maybe he feels uncomfortable about the people having so many guns? It's easy to look Ukraine that is far away in Europe, point fingers and just eat up all that propaganda shit but really a lot is at stake right now that transcents political views/parties and is more about if the next generation of our own children can live in free and fair societies.
🤡
yea thats just how it is. People laugh and point fingers and think the "other side" are all idiots. But while we squabble about who is "right", Trump takes that 400mil plane bribe, enables insider trading for his cronies while small businesses go brankgrupt with each swing of the Dow, allows foreign actors to funnel money to him directly through his meme coin and y'all are like "yea, thats my president". 🤡 but what actually is at stake is that we one day lose the right to chose our leaders and all kinds of other things that we currently take for granted. Maybe you are okay with that but then again statisically Americans can barely read at a 5th grader level and Trump supporters clearly are at the lower end of that bell courve average. So you are very likely just uneducated and misinformed so excuse me if I can't take your opinion that seriously.
