Hasn't been asked in a while, it seems. Perhaps due to the lack of elections coming up any time soon.

GAD3, which is the best polling company by a mile, hasn't published any polls recently, but said a few weeks ago that they are going to release one very soon. I'll post when it comes out.

Edit:

I found this one, from 2 weeks ago. Electomania is decent

Of course, this is from 2 weeks ago... before any softening of the lockdown was announced, so the picture ould be different right now.

btw, it's funny how the president gets more approval from UP's voters rather than his own party's voters

my impression is the same as yours... they fucked up a lot at the beginning, and then they've been making a ton of weird decisions. What's worse is that they seem to change their decisions twice a week. I'm in favor of standing with our government in these times of crisis, but they are clearly fucking up in many aspects.

Nothing out of the ordinary it seems, but yeah, 2 weeks old... with a situation as dynamic as covid, 2 weeks are a long time. Here in Germany, support for lockdown measures has eroded a lot over the last 2 weeks, and those who are arguing in favor of not forgetting civil liberties or economic concerns have gained a lot of steam. This is, of course, a result of our success in keeping the curve down - only because we are lucky to have such low numbers are we able to have these discussions.

The problem is the lack of alternatives.

All of the candidates of the 5 main parties get a failure rating (although Arrimadas is just 0,1 away from approval).

The main opposition party, PP, is the candidate that is least backed by his party's voters (with a score of only 6,1). The only reason he isn't the least approved candidate overall is because Iglesias and Abascal are on the extremists and will always get the lowest scores from people on opposite sides of the spectrum.

There seems to be a feeling that this government is useless, but there's no reason to believe there's much of a better alternative.

Don't know much about Spanish politics but it's good to see the singer of hits including Hero and Bailando, have such a successful career in politics

So Spain and Italy have now relaxed their lockdowns and it's made news here because their new lockdowns are still more restrictive than ours. The negative GDP impact of the lockdowns should have a lesser impact on us as a result.

If you have to keep up your softer lockdown for a longer total time than Italy and Spain had to with theirs, then the GDP impact on the UK could theoretically end up being higher when everything is said and done. I think this scenario is exceedingly unlikely, dont get me wrong, but we should all be aware of the complexity of these tradeoffs. I, personally, am on the side of softer lockdowns, but it's not a clear-cut situation where one option is obviously superior to the other.

True, but we started our lockdown 2 weeks later. Very unlikely as even with identical lockdowns we would be more insulated being less reliant on tourism and a high proportion of our jobs being large multinationals more capable of weathering the pandemic.

Yeah, I think in terms of the economic impact, the UK is better-positioned than many other countries. In terms of the death toll, however, things are not looking good for you. Those 2 missed weeks (plus 15+ years of cost cutting in the NHS) are really coming back to haunt you. :(

The UK has now overtaken italy as the European country with the most deaths, and the 2nd highest death toll in the world. Our population is 65m.
