Such an inconclusive primary, followed by a brokered convention, would be a nightmare for the entire party, depress turnout in the general election and more or less hand Trump his 2nd term on a silver platter...

Ive mentally prepared for the dems to fuck it up in this manner

Exactly. That's what the DNC and DCCC want. It benefits them greatly to get Trump re-elected and fucking ruins them if an actual center leftist wins.

I'm not even sure that's the reference she intended to make. But even if it was, it's not disqualifying.

What's the substantial difference between calling the US government/military "the great satan", and painting a narrative of corrupt globalists who overthrow governments and start wars to enrich the military industrial complex? It's pretty much the same thing.

The substantial difference being people who use the epithet the Great Satan don't seem to draw a distinction between the US government/military and the US. In the case of criticizing the former, you're making a judgement value on the use of government/military, on the other you're making a value judgement about the country itself. Clearly disqualifying.

Why would it ruin them if an actual center leftist wins?

... I guess since it's you, PaRD's resident far-lefty, what you mean with "actual center leftist" are types like Sanders/Warren?!

Forgive me my confusion, for everyone else, myself included, "center left" means folks like Beto/Harris/Gillibrand...

Elizabeth Warren is center-left. Bernie might be leftish. Neither why these people are talking about nationalizing industries for public good. They are reformers, not revolutionary in the slightest.

Consider Bernie Sanders the Ron Paul of the Dems lol. He is out there but within the safe confines of their ideology. Far left in America has meant treating blacks and gays as equals and Bernie has been on this for quite some time already when other candidates are late to the party. But this is social left. Their idea of redistribution is raising taxes not reorganizing society or changing the status quo.

Democratic party is centrist. Both parties are overall. Dems are more rational and GOP traditional IMO is the big difference. The differing performance has more to do with skill levels of leaders and their communities.

We can say Bernie is left, now, but his platform wouldn't have been left in many previous elections. His focus is on working class Americans, and careing about workers is anti capitalist and maybe you consider that being left. As left as unions and rural electricity I guess.

read what's in the medicare-for-all bill that Sanders recently introduced in the Senate - that's full blown socialism when it comes to healthcare.

No it isn't. It will be managed Medicare for all and it will suck because it will be capitalistic in its approach.

Federal govt getting out of Medicare and Medicaid. You can have every on Medicare and it will be anthem, Humana, uhc, Aetna, same motherfuckers.

the tldr of his bill is the following:

- all primary private health insurances will be driven out of business, everyone who currently has a plan that he/she likes will be forced to give it up in favor of the state-run single-payer system.
- the HHS department and its secretary decide virtually everything, which treatments and procedures to cover, who qualifies for what, how much nurses and doctors are paid, and so on.
