I'd assume rather low who in their right mind would stay in that place? Just a bunch of brainwashed people at this point maybe one day their children will finally figure it out until then this chubby dictator is just plain ignorant

Any person in their right mind would stay there considering they'll kill you and your entire family for just trying to escape.

Yeah, you have to be extremely selfish. My brother in law is german, and his brother is married to the daughter of a man who fled East Germany. After the reunification he tried to contact his parents but they refused to talk to them; apparently they said something like "you don't know what you did to us, you're not our son anymore and we don't want to ever see you". I don't know what they did to them or how bad it was, but it must have been pretty ugly if they went on to completely cut off ties with their own son and refuse any sort of apology. It's sad because his wife and kids will never get the chance of meeting that side of the family. I don't know the guy who fled, so I can't verify all of these details, but I trust my brother in law so I guess this is legit. Just imagine the shit they'd do for that kind of "treason" in NK.

That's not even the worst part, every person who defects from NK, their entire family is sent to one of those camps, and these defectors know that's what happens if they go through with it.

Imagine how bad it has to be to be able to make that choice and be ok with it...

I don't think that was actually true, it was more like, of the approved hair styles barbers could use, most were variations of his style.

Not exactly banning, but yeah still abuse of power, power corrupts, text book definition.
