Every day we say Mariupol is going to fall, and it doesn't, but it must be close though now with the Ilyich plant being seized today. There is a bit of port in the South West and the Azovstal plant in the South East left to take, I think the port will fall by tomorrow and Azovstal anywhere from 3 days + depending on how many resources they've got left
Azovstal is massive, its 11 squared km and has 24 kilometers of tunnels underneath. Just from drone bird eye view the factory looks massive. Manually clearing that out will be tremendously hard. I think that's why the separatist leader floated the idea of chemical weapons, as that's by far the most effective type of weapon for situations like these.
It's entirely possibly they may just try to wait them out, as im sure those holed up are running very low on food and water and it's only a matter of days, maybe few more weeks before they start starving to death.
