yeah right, because the same demographic that can't stop bitching about "snowflakes" and millennials destroying society has to be treated like precious special people so they won't be offended, huh?
pretty sure no one "demonised" them into rejecting science and common sense in the first place - and the facts haven't changed. there are legitimate concerns which are important and valuable to raise and express - but that's not what we're talking about in regards to stubborn anti-vaxxers. we're talking blatant anti-intellectualism / selfishness / partisan motivations / rejection of data, facts, and expertise / anti-social behaviour. the whole "i'm just a critical thinker / sceptic / concerned citizen" shtick got old real fast in the face of overwhelming evidence, and i refuse to entertain that transparent excuse.
There are definitely a lot of stupid people and/or conspiratorial nutters with whom dialogue is impossible. There are a lot of those on the other side, as well, people who have never read a scientific paper and yet scream "science" as they advocate for whatever their politicians are currently in support of.
But there are also a lot of people who do not possess the facts, and are skeptical of demands that they make medical decisions they do not fully understand based on trust (non-existent) in government bodies.
