By the way, does anyone know how important the relationship with Russia was as a campaign issue during Ukraine's 2019 election?
From my foreign voyeur perspective, it felt like corruption played a much more prominent role, with many Ukrainians unhappy about how Poroshenko had basically just replaced the old oligarchy with himself and his cronies, so they voted for Zelensky, the comedian who promised to drain the swamp.
you and I discussed this last year. rather then me reiterate what we both said its there in the topic to be re-read.
cheers
PBS had Mersheimer on yesterday and Hegseth is echoing him- thay the US recognizes that Ukraine is not winning and not gaining ground, and that any peace deal has to recognize what Russia has taken. The neoliberal opposition has consistently denied that reality and demanded (Ukrainians) fight on at all costs
ill watch that tomorrow. while i do like meirscheimer I am not aligned with him on a number of points / topics.
