You didn't get me. A Russian conscript costs more than getting some "volunteers" from a dictatorship. Paying with food, crude oil and weapons cost hardly anything for Russia. They have enough of all of those. We're going to get a huge energy inflation (EU first then USA). Russia stopped the export of high quality uranium to the USA and allies. The thing is their people live in a dictatorship and know what hardships are, ours would start protesting and we live in a democracy => voting out anyone who makes their life harder. Expect even more of a "rightwing" shift.
The price of crude oil is also up => even more inflation on all products due to the transport costs.

Germany is a country that can't wait for this to be over. They are directly subsidizing Ukraine. German industrials would be very excited about the possibility of getting cheap Russian gas.
