Georgia 2008
1st attack on Ukraine in 2014
2nd attack on Ukraine in 2022
Slowly taking over Belarus, including faking elections
Russian troops presence in Moldovia and buying votes
Cyberattacks and terrorist attacks over Europe
Throwing illegal immigrants across the EU border to destabilize EU
Trying to influence european and USA politics

But its not really about past 20 years but a much longer.
Putin is KGB agent, trained in 1970s, Russians have been imperialistic for centuries, with a small pause around the 1990s

1) Georgia attacked peacekeeping troops. A huge EU commission fact-finding investigation into causes and events that transpired was posted here many times. It’s quite unambiguous what happened. Even Georgia admits this. No point to repeat wierd propaganda narratives here that contradict publicly admitted and investigated facts https://www.reuters.com/article/world/georgia-started-war-with-russia-eu-backed-report-idUSTRE58T4MO/

2) It wasn’t Russia that overthrew democratic govt in Ukraine in 2014 and caused a civil war. Why are you blaming Russia? We dont overthrow our govts here in Europe because they don’t do what minorities don’t like, worst case the coalition collapses / guy doesn’t get a 2nd term. Arming neonazis to overthrow govts is not valid democratic process.

3) We are in Russia/ Ukraine thread discussing the war. Let’s see whether we all live to see the end of it.

4) How’s Belarus relevant? Do Polish want it as well? If anything - Belarusians are treated equally to Russians under sanctions regime - driving them closer together instead of pulling Belarus closer to Europe. Fun fact - Belarus is the most just country in Europe in terms of wealth inequality. They literally have no oligarchs!

5) There was a civil war in Transnistria in 1990. Russian peacekeepers are legally in Moldova for 3 decades. Transnistria is not part of Russia.

6) Cyberattacks and terrorist attacks all over Europe? What? Or you mean sabotage to disrupt proxy war supplies?

7) Throwing illegal immigrants across the border - what? A reminder - majority of them are fleeing the war as a result of Polish illegal invasion in 2003 that caused millions of deaths and tens of millions of refugees. I don’t see you bending over backwards prosecuting Kwaśniewski over war crimes and illegal invasions.

8) Trying to influence EU and US politics. Have you checkd lately where RadioFreeEurope and FreeRussiaFoundarion get their funding from? Imagine the outcry if Russians would do anything similar to FreeRussiaFoundation in Europe: https://transparency-register.europa.eu/searchregister-or-update/organisation-detail_en?id=171598852000-42

If you don't get involved in Euromaiden and get rid of the government in a violent coup in 2014 and start going on a genocide spree on Eastern Ukraine all the way up till 2021.
I highly doubt Russia is going to invade Ukraine.

I am pretty sure NATO got involved in breaking up Yugoslavia when Slobodan milosevic went on a cleansing spree in Kosovo back in the 90s.
B)

It was Russia who bribed Janukowycz to betray his country so Ukrainians decided to revolt against traitor and make Euromaidan.

Russia attacked because first of all they need people, slaves, workers, cannon fodder as Russia is a low population country, with its population further declining. Also Ukraine lands are very good soil and plenty of various resources.
Second of all for many Russians, being a global power is a source of pride. Expanding or controlling other countries is seen as a sign of strength. Russian elites often glorify the empire's past, portraying expansion as Russia's historical legacy and mission.

Yanukovich had the power to make this decision mandated by the majority of the country that gave him the rights to do so. Thats how democracies work. People gave Trump the mandate to rule US now within the confinements of American system and oh boy he will have fun. Trying to murder Trump or overthrow US govt (Jan 7th?) is a criminal offense and will be prosecuted harshly. Disgruntled minority supported by foreign powers took matters into their own hands in Ukraine and here we are, a decade later. Imagine Medvedev casually giving a speech at Jan7th Capitol Riots the way McCain did. You would never hear the end of it.

Parliament had no constitutional right to remove Yanukovich without impeachment procedure, but they broke the law under duress and did it anyway.

Russians are patriotic and like their country, it’s not news and it’s not bad. Many other nations are liek that as well. Israelis like Israel. Americans like the US of A. Chinese like China. Singaporeans like Singapore. Look at yourself for instance, proud Polish defending Poland. Fun fact - only two countries ever successfully invaded and occupied Russia - Mongols and PolishLithuanian Commonwealth. Guess why Poland and Lithuania might be scared now?

Russia is a big and complicated country that is notoriously difficult to govern and it attempts to squash nationalism like they did it in 1945. Russians take great pride of beating invaders and nazis in particular as Nazis wanted to exterminate all Russians entirely to make space for their lebensraum doctrine. Ukraine conflict is literally a repetition of 1941 in the eyes of an aversie Russian as it sees swastika wearing military driving Leopard tanks into Kursk supported by USMC marines like late Corey Nawrocki.

This thread started in 2022, you think by now we haven't gone through countless of declassified information, read archived news (From previously respectable MSM and news media, Reuters, AP, etc etc) before the 2022 Russo - Ukro war.
Researched back 20 years or at least have a good idea of what happened.

Actually read proper books, biographies from prominent US Politicians, IR Professors, i.e Samuel Huntington , Zbigniew Brzezinski etc etc instead of fixating our eyes on local propaganda news and putting ourselves in an echo chamber, so people who believes similar values and revisionist history can come together as a support group to verify and convince each other of their infallible truth" ?

Do you think any of your views will convince us the truth.

yeah I guess I wont convince you, to me you are just a cowardish Irish guy who knows that Putin will have to go through Ukraine, Baltics, Poland, Finland, Germany, France before eventually reaching your island, so you simply dont give a shit about what happens east of lets say Paris/London. You will start worrying once Russians get to France borders, am I right?

You are the rich Asian guy, who IMO doesnt like USA/Europe because you Chinese guys would like China/Asia to be world leader and USA/Europe collapse or decrease.
Face the truth rich guy: Russia, taliban al-qaeda areas, north korea, Somalia are all shit countries to live for average people there, where the regime wants people to attack other countries.
You cant really compare them to USA/Europe civlised countries and say "oh yeah they are the same with the same people, no difference".
People in the west dont give a shit about military conquests. We want to live peacefully: watch movies, play games, party, go to gim, go holidays, raise kids, play sports, buy luxuries like fast cars. These are priorities of western people. Totally 100% innocent. Saying that NATO people are the risk to Russia is a total bullshit and you very well know it. This is just a made up pathetic russian excuse to attack peaceful Europeans.
I dont know anyone who wants war in Europe. We are not the same as Russians/N. Koreans/Somalia/Talibans.

there we go personal insults, the usual stuff from you and ppl like you. you cannot rationally champion your position, when in doubt throw insults. Look at the map, if Russia wanted Ukraine they would have done a full conscription.
