A quarter of residents of Ukraine’s westernmost region, Zakarpattia, emigrated since Feb 2022 - a total of 300K, said local military governor Myroslav Beletsky.
They were replaced by 350K people from the war zone, an abnormally large proportion of whom are elderly and children. The workforce in the region has been reduced drastically, Beletsky said.

Doesn't matter if it's Odessa or Zakarpattia, those people knew the body snatchers would come at some point. Of course you leave while you have the chance to. I see more and more Ukrainians, in my medium sized city in the US. Whole families, from all over, not just the east, good for them. Actually come to think of it, i have seen almost no people from east. Most have either been from Kiev region or western and central parts.
