Regarding the fact that we use pagan symbols in writing and beat ourselves in the chest about how true Christians we are? Is it worth it?

Language has always evolved

In the present we speak the Christian King's English that's just fact not opinion

The fact that we aren't speaking now, but typing is beyond question. And it’s not the merit of HM Christian King's English, but the Latin alphabet. Tomorrow it will be (Dios no lo quiera) Spanish.

The language most people including all here (JSP rules mandate we communicate in it) use is 'basic English' which is usually American English but it's all derived from HM's English which IMO is the 'correct' English those guys have opulent academies just for learning it. Spanish is big but basic English is the international language of commerce - lots of foreign people communicate it badly but still understandably if it's basic enough.

We speak English here as JSP is predominantly US / Canada forum and US / Canadian citizens barely speak any other language other than English. First/Second gen immigrants speak their native language ofcourse and some people pick up bits and pieces of Spanish / French in high school, but majority are not fluent enough.

International languages of commerce are English, French, Russian, Mandarin Chinese and Spanish. If you speak all 5 - you are set for life in international trade / finance.

Portuguese / German fell off hard. Hindi is local to India and they all speak English anyway plus their local language and maybe language of their neighboring states (eg Malayalam / Tamil). South East Asia speaks English or Chinese for business between each other. Africa speaks English, French and Chinese.

English is lingua franca in 21st century. It is based on Latin/ descendant from Latin, hence you are able to partially understand Latin languages if you speak English. Latin was not a Christian language.

English as lingua franca might give way to Mandarin Chinese as US/UK influence wanes in the 21st century. I will be making sure my kids speak Chinese next to English to prepare them for what’s coming. I seriously considered doing an exchange at Fudan myself when I studied at uni and I regret not doing it. I was not fluent in Chinese enough to qualify for an exchange there.

I think Ukraine should develop a nuclear arsenal. It will be the fastest way to end this needless war and the West can put this catastrophe behind it. It's obviously clear that Ukraine isn't getting into NATO anytime soon and the West won't let it hit targets inside Russia.

Ukraine has to stop relying on the cucked-out west for military support and start a path towards self-determination; nuclear weapons will achieve this.

Ukraine has the ability and resources to make a nuclear warhead but not the time or skill to miniaturize it. They aren't making nuclear MRBMs/ICBMs anytime soon, but they have the ability to make low-yield warheads and slap them on a cruise missile. This is the deterrence that it needs to end this conflict. And yes, Ukraine can do this without Russia realizing it.

Russia would still attack Ukraine if they had nukes.

Russia would nuke Ukraine if Ukraine was going to develop nukes.

No reasonable western politician should allow Ukraine to develop nukes because the ramifications of that are multi fold more dire.

This war gets settled through negotiations with Ukraine giving up some of the east. The other route is not feasible. No one wants Kiev or Lviv to be like Chernobyl, neither do the poles or the Romanians want acid rain and radiation winds seeping into their farmlands.

Doesn't this thread feels so much better at least for another month ? We can have proper debates. :)

Sad to say, that will be escalation beyond what we can imagine. You realize that if Ukraine develop one and nuke Russia and Russia will retaliate, if Russia does, USA will preemptive strike, and when they do it they will target all Nuclear nations and we will have a good old Nuclear Winter because everyone will fire theirs.

This. Russia would rather pre-emptively nuke Kyiv than allow Ukraine to become a nuclear power.

Russia already controls virtually all of the east and keeps pushing on. And at the current rate, I'm sceptical that they would even settle for all of the east. Imho, unless the situation on the battlefield changes fundamentally, they'll definitely keep pushing for Kharkiv and Kramatorsk. I also wouldn't be surprised at all if they still have their eyes set on Odessa. And perhaps also Dnipro (albeit a bit less likely/lower priority).
