This blows my mind. If the west truly believes that Putin is Old, Sick and deranged, why in the world are they provoking him to escalate further ? this makes no logical sense to me at all.

It is not up to them to join NATO. It is up to the 30 + countries in NATO to decide if they are worth the trouble. NATO clearly miscalculated Ukraines joining, now Europe is paying the price. I don't want Sweden and Finnland to join if there is no problem with them being neutral as they are right now. Russia does not care about neutral countries, they see NATO members as a potential problem. Its not worth it. Besides these little coubtries as I mentioned before are not worth world war 3.

I have not seen you post in this thread much. please accept the above as a impartial view from what I perceive the Russian perspective. I do not in any way condone Russia's actions I am merely outlining how they may be looking at the situation.

I dont see why would they feel cornered? Its sounds weird even typing this, it feels like you are saying, that they feel like a cornered animal, because nato is "threathening" them with self defense.
