So footage of two different kills from the past day show a difference in drone philosophy by western and russian forces
In one clip, UA forces killed an isolated Russian troop using their new trial of AI tech that tries to get around the limitations of input delay and counter jamming by being autonomous for its attack descent. No latency and works even if EW is present. In the other clip, RU forces destroyed a Ukrainian tank that was being trailed by an EW jammer vehicle, using a fly by wire fiber optic drone that just unspools its cable in flight, and it was able to simply avoid and fly around the blocking EW vehicle in its path with precision and hit its target. Again with no latency and negating the jamming.

The US created deadly AI holds a lot more philosophical problem and potential for opening pandora's box, while the Russian solution is simple and effective. There's potential for counterplay in both, AI image recognition could be fooled by visual obfuscation, while fly by wire drones can be snipped at the ground or limited for non-linear paths (circling around a target leaves its wire exposed)

Not much of one. It translates to about 2 miles per pound of cable, the drones have about 11 lbs capacity so it balances payload, russians are outfitting them with ~7 mile range and 5 lb bombs
much longer range than TOW fly by wires set for 2.4 miles

one notable advantage is the russian ones cant be detected by transmission either. The western AI drones only engage autonomously at their terminus so they're both detectable and jammable en route or loitering / searching

Drone are still limited by battery, the spool length isnt much less,
a lot of the suicide drones only go 12 miles or so


Im surprised by the clip of the russian drone flying around one vehicle to hit another while both are driving and turning at high speed. Besides being impossible with latency and beyond current AI, I would have though the trailing car could just run into the wire. I don't know how much slack and drop it has

I guess I assumed smaller fpv drones. That sounds more plausible. Probably against larger targets.
Essentially that's a TOW missile but a drone, could be effective.

In the long run AI drone swarms will be superior to pretty much anything and make most infantry shenanigans obsolete.
If I was an active infantryman right now, I'd be looking for about a 300% payrise or I'm taking any kind of out I can.

Looks like Russia executed 9 drone operators in the area of village Zelyonyi Shlyakh, somewhere in kursk area.

Those drone operators attack anything including the wounded and stretcher bearers / medics so they can't expect mercy when they fall into enemy hands.

Drone operators are hated so much that there are special units tasked with hunting them down.

Multiple instances of executing surrendering troops in the last few weeks. It appears as if it is now the policy from higher ups.
