I have yet to see anything but propaganda suggesting things aren't going well for Russia. They are still taking care to not kill civilians en masse, that suggests it's going alright. Meanwhile Ukraine is begging for help and the West is desperately trying to send equipment and convince regular citizens to join Ukraine's side. Seems to me that Ukraine is getting wrecked.

Russia taking Ukraine was inevitable, Russia holding Ukraine and Russia withstanding sanctions after the initial invasion is what i meant by going poorly. NATO may gain 1-2 more members. Insurgency will gnaw at them for years like it did to us in Afghanistan. Even if they install a prop govt its going to be a long road to true peace, and even then likely cause NATO reactions along the borders, Balkans, etc.

That assumes Russia intended to take and hold Ukraine, when they have claimed otherwise from day 1.
NATO was going to NATO no matter what Russia did.

That statement was from over a year ago. can you just go away or be relevant when posting here.
if your not sure what you are posting, research your topic before making a reply as its too easy to debunk your statements. if you have a valid point, research it sothat we cant easily refute it.

yes, just as the US wasnt trying to "take Iraq, or take Afghanistan"

eliminating enemies while installing a prop govt in the 21st century is tantamount to land grabbing. in the 1800s Russia would take land and install a governor and call it Russia, today its just paperwork.

And the US didn't take Iraq or Afghanistan. They occupied them for a time but does anyone actually believe the US intended to make them into states? The US won't even make Puerto Rico a state.
