I am curious about people working in toxic or hazardous environments.

- Abestos/dusts
- Chemical factories
- Power Plants

Maybe it's not easy to evaluate tho.

I'm curious about nuclear power plant worker long term health vs coal or burning types. The nuclear power plant I toured years ago was ungodly clean inside, and they had great metrics on exposure per staff.

the surroundings of nuclear power plants are cleaner than any other plant type and in a lot of places the natural radiation is higher than the working environment

workers in coal plants are to some degree exposed to the emissions of radioactive nuclides, mercury, lead etc

especially in the plants that arent exactly state of the art

They can "use" the guy for few years then kick him away when he reaches 40 or 50 as example. Sad.

Most of you people complaining about cops are sheltered and don't understand how fast a non-threatening situation can spin out of control into a deadly encounter.

Here is a video of a guy simply resisting arrest. The cops were lax in using force to subdue him, which allowed the man to reach under his seat, grab a gun, and murder one officer and wound another and escape. It all happens in a matter of seconds. THIS is why they don't take chances.

I was saying something so dumb it was obviously not serious. If he agrees with it.... Then yeah. Thats disturbing.

So I read around trying to find the reason, because they show up on every chart..
It's because of the mass amount of travel booked by this job group. They die mostly in vehicle crashes or other means.

anyway ignoring the point the cops are overpaid vs other trades for risk.

Thx for doign the research! :)
And yes, if we count travel to and from competitions/matches as job injuries for coaches and umpires, then it makes sense.

Regarding cop pay: I think we really have to distinguish between cities and districts. Being a cop in an inner-city warzone is definitely not a cushy or overpaid job, but lots of small-town or suburban cops are.
