Why would a weapon have to be effective in all situations in the first place?

It wouldn't lol

If you're going against a trained military, then you're going to get steam rolled if you're on citizen level equipment even if you have arms like the one shown. It would be ineffective, and still dangerous in the hands of the public, although it can be effective with more equipment.

In the case of tyrany in a place like the United States, the only way the resisting people come out ahead is having significant portions of the military come off with them civil-war style. That's the only reason the Syrian civil war had legs. Any real insurrection without such support gets put down pretty quickly.

Uh huh. Because the entire military supply line wouldn't be susceptible to insurgency? Fuel trucks? Ammunition manufacturers? Food supply? Those comfy air conditioned cottages where drone pilots work out of?

That's the wrong scenario though, if there already is a tyranny, it's too late. The "2nd amendment rights are an insurance against tyranny"-argument is not about armed rubes overthrowing an organized, institutionally entrenched regime - it's about stopping despots from seizing power in the first place.

Most of you people complaining about cops are sheltered and don't understand how fast a non-threatening situation can spin out of control into a deadly encounter.

Here is a video of a guy simply resisting arrest. The cops were lax in using force to subdue him, which allowed the man to reach under his seat, grab a gun, and murder one officer and wound another and escape. It all happens in a matter of seconds. THIS is why they don't take chances.

Biden would say "shoot him in the leg" as the shot them dead. Biden is a piece of crap not worthy of the office he holds.

Okay? So you restrain them if you are intending to restrain them. Put them on the ground, cuff them, search them, and arrest them.

Don't shoot them before you've had any interaction. Don't shoot them when they reach for their wallet after you've given them an order to do so. Don't restrain them and then sit on their neck and chest for 10 minutes.

Nobody is saying they don't have a hard job. But having a hard and dangerous job does not give them the right to murder citizens.

They couldnt put him on the ground. Then he wheeled around and shot them both. They have a microsecond to react.

The left cries to the sky when police shoot someone but they are awfully silent when cops get shot and killed.

Almost like cops sign up for a dangerous job and are given the training and authority to carry it out or something. Weird isn't it? That when you're trained to do your job you're expected to do your job?

That video is 15 minutes long. They didn't have a split second to react. They had a solid 5 minutes between when they tell him to get out and when he pulls the gun. They did not handle this stop well. Specifically, they escalated without taking control of the situation. And no, I'm not blaming them for getting shot. The guy who shot them has full moral and legal responsibility for that.
