Another pretty bad clip doing its rounds, remarkably clear footage from Toretsk shows 3 Ukrainians surrender to Russians in a bombed out building, then one UA POW lunges and grabs a Russian rifle, and the Russians shoot all 3 and struggle with the last guy. As if an eastern european war doesn't have enough POW abuse, torture, summary executions, etc- the more false surrenders the less likely POWs will be taken

Apparently Ukrainians countered in Selydove and were able to retake most of the city. This would have been a pretty key loss allowing Russia to potentially cut off a huge pocket down to Kurakhove reservoir.

In other news, the weekly care packages of hundreds of millions continue.

The US just announced a new aid package for Ukraine, containing equipment worth $250 million, including:

- Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles
- M113 APCs
- RIM-7 missiles and support for air defense
- Ammunition for HIMARS
- 155mm and 105mm artillery ammunition

Ukraine deployed a few of its thermite drones in combat apparently, and Russia has begun deploying a new wave of wire guided drones out of production. Having zero latency and immune to ECM or signal loss with a tradeoff that the wire could be snipped especially if it flies past an area once and misses someone. Not sure what kind of weapons would be ideal for catching the loose wire in flight / on approach, or whether Russia is building them to switch to wireless signals if they lose the wire.

Im glad the west has pushed Russia into warpspeed R/D. This war has shown to both sides what works and what doesnt; the Russians seem to be doubling down on what works:

In terms of its characteristics and purpose, this missile can be compared to the Western Storm Shadow / SCALP and Taurus missiles. Channel 24 explains what it is, why the Kh-69 is called the "Russian square missile", and what danger it poses.

We're already at the point where it's possible to wipe out miles of landscape.
Not sure what more that can be done.

The real New tech is AI Satellite Surveillance.
It can watch 24/7 from multiple angles, filter false positives and detect threats in real time.

If you look up "AI Satellite Surveillance" there are several companies working on it.

Right this second, companies and governments are using the Ukraine war as a testing bed for all kinds of AI products. Not just drones.

This war is providing both sides with invaluable insight and intel on modern warfare in the age of drones. The West could have been really caught with its pants down if this "drone revolution" had occured in a more high-stakes conflict.
Now, it is time to find solutions or answers for the way cheap drones invalidate expensive tanks, ships and helicopters.
