The Russians seem to be moving forward almost across the entire central/southern Donetsk front, in places which held for a real long time prior. I mean at this rate it looks like they will eventually take the Donbass and the long stalemate is ending. I'm not hearing anything out of western governments that may reverse these gains, am i wrong? Is anyone else promising hundreds of billions in military aid or are the F-16 the wonder weapons?

Russia's advance being much faster is still an incremental advance, its still "two fields in a day" not a blitzkrieg speed. But todays mark is that Russia has now taken the last of the 2014 fortification line where the conflict started in the DPR. On one hand its symbolic that Russia pushed back all the war gains from UA now, but it might be more direct if the lack of fortifications beyond the 2014 lines is true.
There was always this element that Russia was advancing much slower than it could because it was winning the war of attrition by keeping its troops behind the long range bombardments and just smacking everything with glide bombs. But they clearly made some shift after the kursk invasion, and that could be more PR/morale move but with the massive UA manpower shortage and breaching what defenses remained, it could also point to breakthroughs.

and manpower shortages aren't helped by losing 100+ to an iskander. Rumor is the swedes had trainers in there
