This is a pic showing the geolocated missile strikes on google maps more or less from the footage, a whole bunch hit the Zavod Artem military site at the top and the one lone missile hit somewhere outside of the childrens hospital a mile south.
The footage is pretty clear that the missiles pounding the military site were precise and repeated all on the same target, and the other one was quite far away



Ukraine claims it was a Russian direct targeted strike but that they shot down all but 2 missiles, despite 4+ missiles being on film hitting their target. Russia claims it was an anti-aircraft mishap from the Ukrainian side, but the steep trajectory and damage isn't consistent with that either. Nor is it consistent with a hit on the building itself which would have blasted the whole thing to bits, it sure looks like the missile fell outside the building and one corner absorbed most of the blast. Ukraine reports it was 2 adults killed at the hospital and no children. Compared to say, the Ukrainian missile a couple weeks ago that killed 3 children and 2 adults when it was intercepted over that beach in Crimea


Theres another element to consider, whether jamming played any role here. Russia has been aggressive about its ECM to disrupt the NATO munitions in ukraine, whether missiles or drones, and western forces would really be slacking if we neglected that whole avenue of anti-missile defense and were just throwing rocks in the air at them. The missile over the beach in crimea was clearly blown up by an interceptor rocket, not off-target (the dispersal pattern of a very high air burst), whereas this missile very clearly struck the ground without being intercepted. Since all the others hit a mile away, its possible this one just got jammed, though more likely it was just a goof

The hit building is in the red field (red circle is 50m radius), the building you're comparing the missle to is green and the person shooting it should be somewhere in the yellow circle (i'd say where mcdonalds is written) So there are almost 150m between the green circle building and the missle, which is a significant distortion imo.

Fair point. To be perfectly frank to do the math on the distortion one would need to know the size of the lens of the phone that was filming (anyone who ever held a photocamera with detacheable lenses knows that 50mm lens gives different perspective distortions than 300mm lens same as eg 1x zoom and 3x zoom on your iPhone gives different distortion perspectives).

I think Gooms take above summarizes what is known now that the heat of the moment is gone. Let’s see how the discussion in UN SC goes and whether new evidence will be presented.

Ultimately I think it’s just another tragedy in a war that should have never happened and I pray it ends soon.
