My main point though.

What are the damaging effects that we should worry about?

IMO the tragedy of commons is the only one that needs our serious attention.

Increased droughts, increased temperatures, increased weather extremes.

Plenty of areas in the middle east, asia, and american southwest will become uninhabitable due to extreme temperature and water shortages.

The sahara used to be a rainforest. Now it is a desert because the tectonic plates shifted by a degree or two. Im not sure how it becomes relevant as far as passing laws.

The highest temp in Lytton BC (49.6 C) converts to over 121 F. That's higher than the all-time record high for Las Vegas (117 F).

The entire town got engulfed in flames yesterday and eradicated in 15 minutes flat. No one knows if everyone got out.

I've got friends in Vancouver. Haven't heard from them in a few days.

Should we make a thread for climate change disasters? They're only going to get more frequent

Its going to have a major influence on my future decision-making on where I will own property. Even from an insurance perspective, people won't be able to get home insurance anymore in areas deemed high risk for forest fires or the premiums will be so large it won't be obtainable. The other selfish factor being I am choosing a place to live that accommodates my outdoor hobbies. I am not going to live in a place that is now smothered in smoke all summer every year.

I can't be the only one with that train of thought, so it will be interesting to see if some of the more rural northern areas start to see some population increases over the years due to people no longer being attracted to these once beautiful places that are now surrounded in forest fires every single year.

Too bad Alaska was not part of Canada. Its the Yukon only better (more peaks).

https://qz.com/965740/why-im-a-communist-and-why-you-should-be-too/

A communist lays out a convincing case for communism and why we must achieve "a perfect society at any cost. "

Its a worthwhile read on the necessity of totalitarian regimes to fix society's problems.
