But the biggest backers of Ukraine are the exact same squishy Western liberals who have been against nuclear energy for decades and will panic and call for an immediate ceasefire (at whichever cost to Ukraine) as soon as they fear nuclear disaster in their vincinity. Heck, back in 2011, Germany decided to end its nuclear power plants because a tsunami triggered by an earthquake on the other side of the globe had caused a nuclear accident over there. Public opinion was overwhelmingly supporting this decision although the country is neither at risk of earthquakes nor tsunamis.
Biggest backers of Ukraine are on the other side of the world and a little fallout in Europe is not going to hurt them. German leadership sleepwalked into a huge problem arranged by and courtesy of their biggest ally.
German decision to get rid of the safest nuclear stations on the planet in favour of burning lignites (it’s not even thermal coal lol!) and importing electricity generated by nuclear stations in France - will go down in history as a decade of humiliation.
I hope new German government corrects the course to regain energy sovereignty.

So your explanation is "the Kyiv regime is filled with genocidal and suicidal maniacs"?
I would describe them as opportunists that do not have the interests of Ukraine as a country at heart. Long-term nation-building comes from eradication of corruption (something that eg Russia struggles with), strengthening of institutions, economic prosperity as well as moving beyond Jungian victimhood complex to build your nation on. Look at Americans - they don’t complain about oppression from the British, they celebrate it tomorrow as the biggest national holiday and are endlessly proud they evolved beyond a “struggling ex-colony” into the biggest world power of 21st century so far.
