to promote this idea he fudged some embryo drawings. he was very quickly called out for fraud and he had to resign from university. one would think this would of been the end of it but the drawings persisted in text books for nearly? a century. perhaps one of the most baffling episodes in scientific history?

Some people didnt like that his theories (and darwins) caused problems for the church and stopped supporting him, but he was never fired anywhere.
