Yeah I don't believe people are thinking their way through that rationally.
Do they really think the police should just allow random plainclothes pedestrians to intervene in a crisis without any evidence whatsoever of their qualification or identity?
Its not like she said "I'm a doctor" and demonstrated significant medical knowledge and rushed to assist in a helpful way.
She was an angry and emotional bystander who was swearing at them, the only piece of medical advice she could muster was to ask them to do something they were already doing (taking his pulse), and she admitted in her testimony she was unqualified and unequipped to resuscitate him anyway, and that she'd just call real EMTs. Like they already had. And she said she had no identification on her at all. So basically, there was nothing to distinguish her from any other bystander. She was rightly told off that if she was a firefighter, she should know better than to harass the police.

It is crazy that Americans are so pacified that a crowd of people will witness a murder and do nothing despite greatly out numbering their occupiers. This is Kitty Genovese in steriods.

Height of decadence.

So are you drinking to get through the day, or drinking because it makes him look prettier?

The insult is pretty, but I don't drink for any reason related to him. You're very interesting, in many ways. Your thinking is so simplistic, I hardly find you real. On the other hand, you're so incredibly insulting, it's entirely desirable to hunt you down.

Be less unique, Thor. I'd rather like you than not. As with anyone. BTW, reporting your posts. You've crossed the "flaming" line beyond any shadow of a doubt.

Bystanders have no credibility period. Not trying to be insulting, that's just what is.

I started to get through the day but now it is to stave off the akathisia...

...wait you weren't talking to me.

Don't know the syndrome, don't know what you're talking about, but recognize an insult when I see it. Reported.

This topic is about the Floyd trial, kiddo.

Oh yeah, if I don't get a 10% warn I'll be surprised. And I deserve it.

You only think I'm simplistic because you shut down when I ask you to consider a nuanced position. Same thing you're doing with snipa right now. He's giving you a nuanced position based on their duty of car, and you can only see it as him arguing that the cops murdered Floyd.

I literally opened up to you and you attacked what you saw as weakness. There's no nuance involved, Thor. You're just a shitty person.

I disagree, I think a reasonable person can identify a reasonable bystander able to help. If someone is exhibiting medical distress in a restaurant and a guy pops up and says "I'm a doctor, get out of the way", I'm inclined to believe him. And if police were there, they'd be able to judge his credibility pretty quickly based on basic questions and his demeanor and actions. Its not foolproof, there's an element of good faith that can be exploited- a confidence man like Frank Abagnale could fake it. But in general, life experience lets people know when someone will actually be able to help.

The woman shrieking at the police from the peanut gallery and calling them bitches while saying they should check his pulse, while they're checking his pulse, is clearly not. Especially when she states she's a firefighter not an EMT.
Doesn't take much to figure she's going to be a hindrance not help

Guy was on another planet because he was that high. It's unfortunate that all this happened but when you put all your difference aside and see this case for what it is, its a sad story that happened because a guy high AF didnt cooperate. People see it as a race issue but same thing would've happened with anyone that high on fentanyl.

No. Unless they have the credentials to show, they're NOT credible. Their video of the incident is credible. But when they shout that they're a medical professional... Yeah? I created fusion power bitch, come at me bro! Seriously, stfu. Anyone can say anything. If it's a medical professional, show your laurels, yes?

A woman without the necessary training or equipment to perform resuscitation, who was angrily yelling at them to do something they had already done and were continuing to do, and who testified that had she been allowed, she would have... called EMTs like they had done 3 minutes before she even arrived?
She was clearly unqualified and not possessing the level head to help in a crisis.

Isn't she a certified EMT?

Don't disagree with the rest, but thought I heard them describe EMT creds in her testimony.

Edit, she is certified by the state as an EMT. Per MN state requirements an EMT basic can work in ambulance paired with a Paramedic. EMT would know how to use almost all of the same equipment. Info obtained from wife who got EMT basic in 2010.
