I believe people should use programs such as welfare as a temporary safety net instead of unrelentingly abusing it. However, letting millions fend for themselves isn't a viable solution and will turn most of them into actual criminals, which would likewise take a toll on the economy and society as a whole. You need to cease clinging onto your 1940s White Christian America delusions and come back to reality. The GOP will continue losing if they keep failing to adapt to society's slow shift towards the left/secularlism.

I'd put all those people in jail if they can't manage to get a skillset after breathing for 20-30 + years and not being able to deliver. There's no place for weak ass. There's a reason we devastating forests, wildlife and so on. You'll have to feed them, pay for the rent, pay for the guards, etc - it costs at least 30k a year to confine them. Prison would be the new welfare hub - commiting crime wouldn't be as detrimental anymore.
