NY State Assemblywoman Latrice Walker was on the street near a nail salon with some police presence when a street peddler named Kwesi Ashun tried to get her to buy his t-shirts.
Inside the nail salon, another man who had walked in demanded to use the bathroom, and when they refused, he urinated right in the middle of their store
Store workers hailed the police outside, and they found the public urinator also had active arrest warrants and placed him under arrest.
The pedder Ashun outside saw the arrest taking place, barged into the shop and started violently attacking the police.
One officer deployed a taser, but it was ineffective in stopping him. Ashun then picked up a metal chair and started striking the officers in the head, crumpling one of them who got off six shots with his pistol as he collapsed, killing Ashun.
The officer who got shots off was critically injured and remains in a medically induced coma, his partner hospitalized for tinnitus.

The democratic assemblywoman who was outside declared “A young man is now dead because of an interaction with the police" and “He was always a peaceful young man"

witnesses are unreliable, and many of them made contradicting statements concerning this incident. who are you to judge who is credible and who isn't? you weren't there. we should not judge before all the details are known. innocent until proven guilty in a court of law...
