Well because he spent his time telling them to kill, enslave and brutalise everyone else.

Did God love the Canaanites? What about the people of Jericho?

...every Old Testament battle has a very significant spiritual meaning but one must actually study the Bible to learn these truths .

The spiritual meaning is irrelevant. He ordered the wholesale slaughter of entire cities and nations. The question is how that shows love for the people who were murdered and enslaved, whose children were dashed against the rocks and whose homes, property and even livestock were put to the sword and the torch.

If you're claiming that God never commanded these things and that the stories are just allegorical then fine. But if you're claiming these acts were committed on His order then I say there is no excuse, reason or 'spiritual meaning' that can include His love for the victims of these divinely ordered acts of genocide.

...absolute bullshit ( and no I'm not claiming they are anything but actual historical events . You will never bother to look for the reasons they were allowed because you might have to tone down the spewing against God you have done since your ignoble arrival on this forum .

You think I don't know?

They were killed because they lived in the chosen land that God had decided should be for the Jews alone... Plus they were supposedly practitioners of human sacrifice and witchcraft.

My bad. There's a deeper, spiritual meaning that makes the genocide of an entire people into an act of love for those people.

If there is then feel free to let me know. It's my suspicion that, as usual, you have nothing and so are resorting to wishy-washy nonsense and condescension to avoid having to admit you're wrong.

Although if not I'd love to know.

Probably something similar to Christ's views on slavery: they should suffer in silence so they can be rewarded with heaven later.

Better question:

How to get rid of this thread, when it dies.
