May 9th is their victory day and they’ve been having these types of armed parades and displays every year for decades now. It’s a good way to align the public with the highly militarized state. I mean it’s low hanging fruit propaganda. Parading German and American hardware for the plebs to see and rally against the external enemy but why not? Nothing to lose.

NATO membership was and is the goal the rest is massive cope.

If Russia manages to take Eastern Ukraine (the annexed oblasts) and get Ukraine to sign a peace treaty where Ukraine must remain neutral then it's a massive win for Russia and a complete loss for the West simple as that.

Saying oh well we lost but we really wanted to wear down Russia is just massive cope.

what does ukraine bring to NATO? is it a contributor, or a drain on the collective?

A complete drain it's a corrupt shit hole stuck in the 90s with old Soviet infrastructure and terrible demographics which I've pointed out many times.

The only thing it has to offer is it's geographical location, Black Sea ports and Crimea / Sevastopol which is of course very important to the Russians too.

This is a geopolitical chess game and the Ukrainians are the pawns sacrificed by the West

yet you admit ukraine is a leech member, and they really only have ports to offer that NATO doesnt really need because based on that map they already have most of the black sea and Mediterranean?

NATO welcomed Ukraine's future membership back in 2008 and NATO has been on a roll absorbing a whole bunch of countries that were all similar poverty stricken corrupt shit holes before they were absorbed into NATO and the EU
