In recent days, Russia was able to seize additional front towns. Most notably, Russian troops recently were able to get a foothold in Ocheretyne, west of Avdiivka. This happened unexpectedly, as apparently Ukrainians tried sloppily to rotate troops, leading to an opening, with Russia seizing the trenches & key parts of the town. Russian accounts on Twitter celebrating today as they were able to seize the center of the town, pushing Ukrainians to northern outskirts. It's indicative of how stretched the front has become for Ukraine. Both lack of weapons and general men attrition is becoming evident.

"The situation is ******." Ukrainian activist with the 110th Mech.Brig. confirms Russian breakthrough in #Ocheretyne. Very much seems like Ukraine had a first line of defense that disappeared for some reason and simply no backup force in the town itself, which is overrun now ...
