And vice versa. That’s why drones are the new weapon of choice while big bulky hardware is more vulnerable than ever. I’ve said this a few times now, our big bulky navy is pretty vulnerable now, and the future of warfare is for sure not these huge billion dollar vessels. Sure we got good AA that can pick off these flying lawnmowers, just as we’re doing in Red Sea now but it’s really expensive and if an enemy would send a swarm of these, they could exhaust a ships defense.

I don’t really think we’ve seen the final form of what drone warfare looks like. In the future I think we’re going to see swarms of these, maybe a few hundred at a time with decoys, etc that will make it increasingly difficult to nip all. They’re also getting cheaper and cheaper.
Imho, there will be new forms of drone defense, some AoE stuff. For example, I could think of a vacuum bomb which sucks the air out of a whole region so that the drone motors can't keep them in the air and a whole swarm of drones just crashes down at once. At which point drone swarms will get accompanied by "guardian drones" which try to pick up the vacuum bomb before it has a chance to detonate in the middle of the swarm. Which then means that the defenders will start shooting multiple vacuum bombs at once to overwhelm the guardian drones, or get accompanied by their own "enforcer drones", etc. pp.
Fun times ahead.
