calling his wife on videocall laughing saying "his head is there, legs here, body here. i would show you but you wouldn't recognize all the pieces and organs".
i've had a chance to hang out a bit and even enjoy a cup of tea in a local cafe, with a english ww2 veteran that fought on normandy.
completely different mindset than what we're seeing here in modern era. guy had friends dying in front of him, and has nothing but respect towards german army saying how they were amazingly disciplined, trained and prepared. he says the fight was hard as they were so professional unlike forces of america/england. i was baffled by his words and he said "they fought for what they considered to be right cause, same like we did".
