not expecting any offensive this year from Ukraine, other then long range. they dont have the men. What I am seeing is calls for western europe to move to a war footing, send more weapons and prepare for war.
Which war? Even if Russia "wins" in Ukraine, their military will be crippled and worn down, needing years to replenish their troops and materiel. NATO still has total air supremacy. Does anyone seriously believe that Russia could just waltz into the Baltics or Poland and grind out victories via weekls-long, static, WW1-style trench warfare based on their limitless stockpiles of soviet-era artillery? Hell no, their artillery would be wiped out from the air without NATO even breaking a sweat.
The one trump card they might have had is the surprising versatility and efficiency of drones, but NATO is gathering valuable intel on them in real time. It would be asinine to think that an alliance comprised of multiple of the most technologically advanced nations on the planet would, after years of heads-up, still be unable to come up with a solution to "the drone problem".
