Do you think Putin will have another round of mobilisation?
France's leaked military assessment says that Russia has been rotating troops and managing levels successfully, unlike Ukraine. And they've been flexible and responding in realtime, as we've seen with the past few days where the Bolgorod front had its conscripts swapped for experienced troops. I think the best we can ever predict in a conflict like this is what the
current course is, which is that Russia won't even need wider mobilization in the foreseeable future. But that's only what we can foresee, and if tides change they could.
Ukraine on the other hand is already widening their mobilization, lowering the conscription age, being more aggressive with conscription agents, targeting the previously exempted farmers and Donbas regions who will not be motivated to fight against Russia. But they haven't gone all out on the western regions or lowered the age to 18 or started demanding the EU slave catchers send back runaway males. I think the losses at Avdeevka were astronomical enough to seriously dent the entire nationwide headcount, if the leaked report is accurate they were losing men at a rate much higher than they're recruiting them (in one battle, versus nationwide), and instead of a withdrawal to a safer line or an encirclement that captured an army, instead the 110th was simply obliterated.
Ukraine claims it will conscript 500,000 more soldiers with the new law, and in a demented emulation of what led to draft riots in the American past, Ukraine's law would no longer exempt farmers and other critical workers but instead pass crippling tax levies on them if they don't enlist, allowing the rich to pay to avoid the draft. But in the end, its got the issue void says above, Russia has plenty of soldiers already mobilized and vastly more reserves and men to conscript, Ukraine does not. Lowering the conscription age and trying to force Donbas farmers into the front lines will just result in more people fleeing both west, and in this case east since the easterners will more likely defect.
