note that the word "compare" does not mean like for like, it is a comparison, not an equal comparison. ultimately you can compare men to women, earth to saturn, america to russia and yes, cuba to ukraine.
i could just as easily compare apples to children.

note also, the idea is not to get support of a view, but rather to voice it. I am not trying to change minds, I am only trying provoke healthy debate.

what about your edit? doesn't change anything about what i said. the US has no right to invade cuba, bomb their cities into the stone age, murder their civilians, and destroy their infrastructure just because they don't want them to join a defensive alliance they don't belong to. you're finally getting my point. they might have their reasons that they don't want it, and one can argue if those reasons are valid or not, but it doesn't change the conclusion.

militarily superior nations not strong-arming / threatening or invading their neighbours in order to advance their own economic / territorial / strategic goals is the whole point of alliances like nato. it's to PREVENT military conflict and every country having to be armed to the teeth, and if you look at nato's record in that regard, it's pretty good at achieving that.

People of the world… we just need peace this is what all nations get when only a few people are allowed to run their nations I honestly hate the world we live in it’s not just America not just Russia there is too much greed and jealousy in this world maybe a asteroid will hit us and rid us of this conflict we are all here for a short stay anyways a blink of an eye why spend time fighting I just don’t comprehend it it’s sad then people argue amongst themselves about who’s right who’s wrong a endless cycle of fighting amongst ourselves when it is completely out of our hands rigged elections dictators nazis it’s all the same what control do we have over it I guess it’s human nature which is a sad thing when you take a look at your surroundings that are untouched tho it’s very little you see nothing but peace this is why I stare at the sky at night so quiet and peaceful no war no fighting only the cosmos I can honestly say if we ever or have had visitors I’m embarrassed for us all I am embarrassed to be human and if we have had visitors why would they wanna come here any ways we are so primitive in our ways and are threatened by any thing we do not understand or believe in so I feel like this is why we wage war because we are threatened about peace it’s something we have never understood since the dawn of man and something we never will….

If you want to be inspired you can look at what Elon Musk is doing for space exploration. Humanity has technologically advanced very far in the last 2000 years but as a species we are very aggressive and it could take 1000's more years before this trait is reduced. There will be more wars and conflict for a long long time unfortunately.

Yes it (i assume your referring to the missiles) was a much more violent move (no more violent then the US putting nukes into Turkey of course).
i did not compare cuba and ukraine events as equal, but rather i compared them.
