A recent poll commissioned by one of the two national German public broadcasters (think of a German equivalent to the BBC) found that Germans reject sending Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine by a 59-34 margin, so chancellor Scholz is actually acting in line with public opinion by denying the calls to supply Kyiv with them. Also shows that this is yet another issue on which public opinion and published opinion diverge.

They were not going to send tanks to Ukraine amiright?

These tanks being used to capture Russian territory was never a realistic prospect, so sending them to Ukraine didn't risk us being perceived as indirectly attacking Russia. The Taurus missiles, on the other hand, can strike targets far behind the enemy lines, deep in Russian territory. Perhaps the biggest German fear is that our Taurus missiles would be used to blow up the Crimean bridge, which would represent a big escalation of this war and of our involvement in it.

I still remember when Biden explicitly said we won’t send f-16s and look where we are.

im not sure on this, what i do know is that the US tripped their tanks of the most up to date armor before sending then to Ukraine, because they didnt want Russia to get the technology.



by "our" i presume you refer to German involvement? indeed scholz even went on air and said this in the last week.

im sorry, but I have to say it, that girl is hot.

In the same way I can defensively point a gun in your face walking you down until the barrel is mere inches from your forehead. Then when you’re up against the wall and instinctually try to fight, claim your aggression is completely unjustified and I’ve been right all along to be pointing and inching towards you because, well, look how aggressive you are.
