Good you get that at least. Now you should think back and realize that the new arms race had already begun when NATO installed a new missile shield on the new NATO members' territory close to the Russian border. For any country this would matter. Like in 1962 it mattered to the US.
You really live in a bubble. Countries decide things on a completely different level and sometimes their decisions are not in the best interests of their neighbors or citizens. Your feelies don't matter.
Instead of rambling on about Russia bad you should think and understand why things happen and that you don't always get what you want. And those Russians look determent to prevent Ukraine becoming a NATO member at any cost so throwing tons of weapons and money at Ukraine only makes things worse.
how much of their gdp does nato spend on military compared with russia? one would think that after being owned that hard you'd carefully consider what ridiculous "argument" you'd want to pivot to, but you simply can't help yourself, huh?
yes, the relationship between countries is more complicated than those between neighbours, however, the main point is valid: it is NOT russia's right to determine ukraine's political course, it's exclusively the right of the ukrainian citizens. if they want to join nato, russia gets no say in it. you're american, right (everything else would be a huge shock considering the hilarious confidence you display your ignorance with)? what fundamental policy decisions should the mexican president be allowed to make for the US? imagine they got fed up with the decadent american life-style, your unhealthy, sugary shit food, and your shallow plastic-culture - do they have the right to invade their neighbouring states to achieve that? it's preposterous and you know it. the only reason you're arguing this is because you're brainwashed with cultural war propaganda and think that the murderous dictator pootin is on your "side" just because he's also a racist, islamophobic, homophobic piece of human garbage. your "logic" that it's up to the "stronger" country to determine what their neighbours do is EXACTLY why nato exists, you're making my argument for me there. if you're against war, you're in favour of nato "expansion". but no, you're trying to have your cake and eat it...
