Video came out today of the retreat from Avdeevka and its even worse than previous footage made it look
30+ ukrainian soldiers in one big group just trying to run across a huge series of fields on foot with absolutely zero cover or covering fire, no armor, no mobility, no attempt to save the wounded. Just getting blown to bits by waves of artillery
So yeah the retreat from avdeevka was officially a big disorganized rout with soldiers left completely abandoned. If they had surrendered there's what, 80%+ chance they'd survive instead of being massacred in a war crime or killed in prison?
They had no other ways out of the city, Russians closed the gap and the UA leadership never had a proper retreat so the only corridor back to the UA lines were completely covered in artillery barrages. Just complete lack of tactical sense
